Institute policies

Our policies, in plain language

What you can expect from us, and what we ask of you. Last reviewed August 2026 — draft pending final legal review.

Refunds & cancellations

Your deposit

A deposit secures your seat in a specific cohort. Deposits are refundable in full if you withdraw in writing at least 14 days before your cohort's start date, and refundable at 50% between 13 and 7 days before the start date. Within 7 days of the start date the deposit becomes non-refundable, because your seat, materials and lab place have been committed.

Tuition refunds after a course begins

  • Before the end of week one: full tuition refund, less the non-refundable deposit.
  • Before the end of week two: 50% tuition refund, less the deposit.
  • From week three onward: tuition is non-refundable, but you may apply once to defer your remaining modules to the next available cohort at no charge.

If we cancel or reschedule

If the institute cancels a cohort, you choose between a full refund (deposit included) or a guaranteed seat in the next intake. If we reschedule a start date by more than 14 days, the same choice applies. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 10 working days.

Instalment plans

Instalment payments already made follow the same schedule above. Missed instalments may suspend access to classes and assessment until brought up to date; certificates are issued only once tuition is fully paid.

Academic policy

Attendance

Practical skill is built in the lab, not around it. Students must attend at least 85% of scheduled sessions, including all hands-on lab and project sessions, to qualify for assessment. Documented medical or family emergencies are accommodated with make-up sessions where practicable.

Assessment & certification

  • Each programme is assessed through a portfolio of working projects, written assessment, and a practical code review.
  • A pass requires your own working code — project criteria are never averaged away against written marks.
  • Students may resit one failed component per programme; resits are scheduled with the next cohort.

Professional conduct

Students work in shared labs on shared equipment and, at times, on real client material. Respectful conduct, care of equipment and confidentiality of any client work you are exposed to are mandatory. Breaches — including misuse of lab equipment or sharing confidential material — may lead to dismissal without refund, at the discretion of the academic board.

Academic honesty

Portfolio projects must be your own work, built during your training; using libraries and references is part of real development, but submitting someone else's project as your own is not. Falsified submissions result in immediate withdrawal of certification, including retrospectively.

Privacy policy

What we collect

We collect the information you give us directly: your name, contact details and message when you send an inquiry; and your application, identification and payment details when you enrol. We do not buy data about you from third parties.

How we use it

  • To respond to inquiries and process applications and payments.
  • To run your programme — registers, assessment records and certification.
  • To send course updates you have asked for. Marketing messages always include a working opt-out.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to operate — payment processing, SMS and email delivery — and only the minimum each needs. We never sell personal data. Student records are retained for as long as certification verification requires, then securely deleted.

Your rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete data we are not legally required to keep. Write to info@godansoftwares.com and we will respond within 30 days.
